Pizzica sul Tavolo

Pizzica sul Tavolo is a screendance created during the COVID-19 lockdown. Inspired by the everyday ritual of setting the family table, the piece reflects on the routines that emerged during a period of isolation and on the longing for the gatherings that could no longer take place. The work contrasts the precision and repetition of domestic tasks with the spontaneity and vitality of dance. Automatic gestures, predetermined roles, and carefully arranged objects gradually give way to movement, play, and disruption. Guided by the rhythms of a traditional tarantella, Pizzica sul Tavolo transforms the table from a site of preparation into a space of encounter and celebration. Infused with Mediterranean imagery and personal memories, the work reimagines a familiar ritual through movement, inviting audiences to reflect on connection, anticipation, and the joy of coming together.
